Shenzhen in south China＇s Guangdong Province is working on forming a complete flat panel display (FPD) industrial production chain in China. Shenzhen Julong Photoelectic Company will start construction of a TFT-LCD6 (thin-film transistor liquid crystal display) production line in September this year, which is expected to start production in 2008, according to Wang Dianfu, chairman of the board of directors of Skyworth Group.

Shenzhen Julong Photoelectric Company was jointly founded by China＇s top four color TV giants of Skyworth, TCL, Konka and Changhong and Shenzhen Shenchao Sci-tech Investment Company, targeting developing high-tech panel displays and large-size TFT-LCD panels.

Beijing Oriental also invested eight million yuan (US$997,000) in the Julong Photoelectric Company to have 40 per cent of the stake.
